The JBWF is a Christian women's organization that is an auxiliary of the Jamaica Baptist Union. We are dedicated to promoting training, education, and wellness for women and families in our community. Our mission is to uplift and empower women through various programs and projects that focus on spiritual education, healthcare, and community development.
PROGRAMS & PROJECTS
The Jamaica Baptist Women's Federation is committed to implementing various programs and projects that aim to improve the lives of women and families. Our initiatives include educational workshops, healthcare projects, community development programs, and skills training. Through these efforts, we seek to create a positive and lasting impact on the lives of women and families in our community.
Women's Empowerment
At the JBWF, we are dedicated to empowering women by providing them with the necessary resources, support, and opportunities to thrive. Our focus on women's empowerment encompasses christian leadership training, financial literacy programs, and mentorship initiatives.
Community Development
The JBWF actively contributes to the development of our community through various projects aimed at improving infrastructure, access to essential services, and creating a safe and inclusive environment for all community members. Our major community impact initiatives include providing a safe shelter for victims of domestic violence and a home for children facing adverse family life circumstances.
The JBWF Safe Shelter
A private residence is available in Eastern Jamaica for women and children seeking refuge from domestic violence. The home is secure and offers a space for recovery, healing and peace to rewrite their stories of trauma and abuse. Our aim is to provide safe spaces to shape the whole woman. For referrals, please make request to the JBWF secretariat under confidential cover.
Family Wellness
We believe in the importance of family wellness grounded in Christian living and provide support for families to lead healthy and fulfilling lives. Our programs address areas such as maternal health, child nutrition, parenting workshops, and family counseling services.
Educational Scholarships
We are dedicated to promoting education by offering scholarships to deserving women and students in our community. Our goal is to provide access to quality education and learning opportunities, ultimately paving the way for a brighter future.
The Garland Hall Home located in Anchovy, Saint James is a place of safety regulated by the Child Protection and Family Services Agency of Jamaica (CPFSA). It is privately run by the JBWF and provides housing, nutritional and life support to approximately 20 children ages 6-18 years.
